Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
141 PM EDT Tue Jun 3 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Showers and embedded thunderstorms will overspread our region tonight and
Wednesday, with waves of heavy downpours expected to continue into
Wednesday evening before coverage diminishes briefly overnight through
Thursday morning. Another round of widespread showers and thunderstorms
is likely to develop from Thursday afternoon through the early evening
hours. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will be possible
again on Friday afternoon and evening. Otherwise, breezy easterly
transport winds across southeast Georgia on Wednesday morning will shift
to southeasterly during the afternoon hours, while breezy southeasterly
transport winds across northeast and north central Florida shift to
southerly during the afternoon hours. These breezy conditions will
counter widespread cloud cover and rainfall, yielding fair daytime
dispersion values at inland locations and poor values at coastal locations
on Wednesday. Transport winds will shift to southwesterly on Thursday,
creating fair to good daytime dispersion values at most locations.
Breezy westerly transport winds are forecast on Friday.

FOG POTENTIAL AND OTHER REMARKS...Significant fog formation is not expected
through Thursday morning. Patchy fog is possible during the predawn and
early morning hours on Friday at inland locations. Widespread 1-3 inch
rainfall totals are expected through Thursday evening across our region,
with locally higher amounts possible.
