Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
129 PM EDT Fri Aug 8 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A lingering frontal boundary over the area will allow for the wet
pattern to continue into the weekend. Onshore easterly flow will
bring the Atlantic sea breeze well inland each day as showers press
inland with T`storms increasing in coverage during the afternoon
hours. Chaotic thunderstorm winds possible where a few strong to
marginally severe pulsing thunderstorms develop as the Atlantic sea
breeze reaches the Gulf sea breeze along the I-75 corridor. No
significant fire weather concerns aside from frequent lightning
episodes with thunderstorm activity. By next week, rain chances will
slowly decrease towards midweek as hotter daytime high temperatures
make a return.

FOG POTENTIAL AND OTHER REMARKS...Patchy fog is likely in the
vicinity of a stalled front, mainly across SE GA the next few
mornings.
