.DISCUSSION...
Northeast onshore winds will create breezy conditions at the coast
10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph and 8 to 12 mph inland this afternoon
as the area lies between surface high pressure ridge to the north
and Hurricane Erin well to the southeast. Onshore northeast flow
will push Atlantic seabreeze well inland with convergent scattered
coastal showers with a few T`storms moving quickly south and west,
limiting local flood risk today. Wednesday, as Erin moves northwest
and then northward the local wind flow will become more northerly

to 15 mph and winds higher along the Northeast Florida coast 15 to
20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Drier air Wednesday will limit shower
and T`storm coverage to the Georgia coast and portions of Northeast
Florida mainly east of highway 301. Higher moisture will return to
end the week with scattered to numerous showers and afternoon
T`storms becoming widespread Friday as a frontal boundary sinks
south into the area, stalling over the weekend with daily rounds of
numerous to widespread showers and T`storms and locally heavy
rainfall risk.
Elevated surface and transport winds will create high daytime
dispersions this afternoon and again Wednesday as the pressure
gradient remains tightened between the high to the north and Erin
moving northward well east of the region. Thursday and Friday, high
daytime dispersions will remain across Northeast Florida where
higher
mixing heights and elevated transport winds persist with good
dispersions across Southeast Georgia.
FOG POTENTIAL AND OTHER REMARKS...Patchy fog is possible over
interior southeast GA late tonight. Gusty and erratic winds are
possible with any showers or thunderstorms, but localized flood
threat will be minimized this afternoon.
