The National Weather Service office in Jackson MS will conduct storm surveys today for the area including the following counties: Leake, Winston, Smith, Newton, Kemper, Lauderdale, Clarke, Jasper, Jones, and possibly Forrest. The surveys are in relation to the severe thunderstorms that moved through on April 5th to April 6th. Results of today`s surveys should be completed and transmitted via a Public Information Statement by this evening. Additional surveys are expected in the following days in the Sunflower, Leflore, to western Grenada County area, and also to finish up any incomplete surveys from today. The storm survey information will also be available on our website at http://www.weather.gov/jan, and via our social media channels (@NWSJacksonMS). $$ EC
