Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
129 PM CDT Sun Sep 6 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Due to continuing light wind and mostly humid conditions, fire
weather danger will be low this week. One minor exception will be
a brief bout of lower humidity Monday in North Mississippi and
Arkansas districts. Scattered afternoon and early evening
thunderstorms are expected today, with lower chances on Monday.
Afternoon rain chances will gradually increase again from south to
north through the remainder of the week. Patchy fog cannot be
ruled out Monday morning, but it is not expected to be widespread.
