Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
153 PM CDT Wed Aug 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...Patchy fog will be possible Thursday morning and
especially in the south Friday morning but dense fog is not
anticipated. Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected
across the area this afternoon into tonight ahead of a cold front
that will sag into the area Thursday and stall across our southern
districts Friday. This will result in greater rain chances
through Thursday that will become limited to the south Friday.
The drier air north of the stalled front will limit rain chances
across the northern districts through the weekend but rain chances
will continue over the southern districts.
