Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
211 PM CDT Fri Aug 22 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Patchy fog will be possible early Saturday morning across
portions of south MS and east MS but dense fog is not anticipated.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected across the southern half
this afternoon into tonight ahead of a stalled cold front. This
will result in greater rain chances in the south into this
weekend. The drier air north of the stalled front will limit rain
chances across the northern districts through the weekend but rain
chances will continue over the southern districts. RH will be
monitored heading into the weekend. Aforementioned dry air will
allow for lower RH, mainly across the north Monday afternoon,
though the light winds should limit greater fire danger.
