Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
234 PM CDT Fri Sep 18 2026

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will remain dominant and lead to near record high
temperatures and dry weather this weekend. Next best chance of rain
(low chance of 15-25 percent) looks to be Monday in the east fire
districts with increasing coverage next week (low chance 15 to 25
percent in east to southeast fire districts). Afternoon minimum
relative humidity (RH) will drop near critical thresholds.
Northwest fire districts is the location where RH values could
fall below 30 percent, but light wind will limit fire danger
areawide. While patchy fog in sheltered locations cannot be ruled
out, widespread fog and especially dense fog are unlikely in this
hot regime.
