Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
324 AM CDT Sat Jul 26 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Patchy light early morning fog is possible this morning and
Sunday mornings especially across the southeast half of the area
that receives measurable rainfall the afternoon before. A passing
tropical wave over the northern Gulf will help develop mainly
diurnally driven rain later this afternoon but high pressure
surface and aloft will strengthen back over the region Sunday and
remain dominate through the middle of next week. This will result
in warmer than normal temperatures and lower rain chances. An
anomalously moist airmass will remain in place and combine with
the hot temperatures to result in high heat stress over the whole
area Sunday through the middle of next week.
