Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
Issued by National Weather Service Huntsville AL
234 PM CDT Tue May 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...
A wet period begins today where wetting rain is forecast today
and tomorrow. Through Thursday the highest rainfall totals in
excess of three inches are expected across the central and
southern districts. A closed upper level low will settle over the
region this weekend and prolong rain chances although rain amounts
will be lighter each day. Patchy fog will accompany the rain at
times but dense fog development is not anticipated Wednesday or
Thursday mornings.
