725 FXUS64 KJAN 240542 AFDJAN Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Jackson MS 1242 AM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 ...New DISCUSSION, AVIATION... .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1237 AM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 A cold front associated with a low pressure system over the Great Lakes will edge southward through tonight. Today`s temps will still be a little warmer than normal, but the trend to cooler temperatures will arrive in its wake by midweek as a 1024 mb surface high spreads into the Mid-South region. By Tuesday and Wednesday, high temps below 90 will become more common, and most areas will have morning lows in the 60s. Cooler spots in north central to northeast Mississippi will dip into the upper 50s by Wednesday or Thursday morning. Rain chances will be quite limited through Thursday, and with the increasing dryness, we will need to pay greater attention for "Limited" fire weather concerns. Daytime RHs are forecast to fall as low as the 25-30 percent range in some areas by Monday and again Wednesday and Thursday. Low-end chances for showers and thunderstorms will return by the weekend as the front washes out and another system moves across the Central CONUS. /NF/ && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1237 AM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 All TAF sites are VFR tonight with the exception of MEI where fog has brought MVFR occasional IFR conditions. Expect remaining sites to remain VFR through the period. /15/ && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
