Delayed report... Jay County EMA came across
a narrow path of damage to a mature soybean
crop heading southeast at the extreme
southern edge of Jay County. They noted some
crop damage in the field behind them (to the
northwest) as well. It is worth noting that
because of weather, drone footage was not
able to be gathered, so the track is limited
to what is seen in the picture provided.
There were several social media reports that
suggested a brief touchdown might have
occurred on US Highway 27 a couple of miles
to the northwest, however a ground survey in
that area was not able to pinpoint and
substantiate those reports enough to connect
it to this EF-U. High resolution satellite
data has been requested for this area, and
we will edit this preliminary track if we
find additional evidence to support its
extension southeast or northwest.
