001 WGUS83 KIWX 311922 FLSIWX Flood Advisory National Weather Service Northern Indiana 222 PM EST Fri Jan 31 2025 MIC021-027-312300- /O.CON.KIWX.FA.Y.0001.000000T0000Z-250131T2300Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Berrien MI-Cass MI MI- 222 PM EST Fri Jan 31 2025 ...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues and frozen soil conditions. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Michigan, including the following counties, Berrien and Cass MI. * WHEN...Until 600 PM EST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 219 PM EST, Surface observations indicate that between three quarters of an inch and one and a half inches of rain has fallen across the advisory since last evening. The combination of this rainfall and frozen soil conditions will continue to lead to a threat of standing water and ponding of water on roadways into early this evening. - Additional rainfall amounts of around one quarter of an inch are expected over the area for the rest of the afternoon. Rainfall rates between one tenth of an inch to one quarter of an inch per hour are possible, but these rainfall rates should diminish through the remainder of the afternoon hours. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
