.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1257 AM EDT Sat Jul 5 2025

An upper ridge will continue to keep very warm conditions over
the forecast area through this weekend. High temperatures today
and Sunday will generally be in the lower 90s with heat indices
at some locations in northwest Ohio and south of Ft Wayne
approaching the upper 90s. Will continue to mention these high
heat indices in the Hazardous Weather Outlook, but will not
issue a Heat Advisory at this time. Highs will be in the 80s
this upcoming week with heat indices in the 80s to lower 90s.

Very stable mid level lapse rates (4.5C to 5.0C/Km) along with a
sizable low level cap will be over the forecast area today and
will make it difficult for storms to fire, so have kept storms
out of the forecast for today. A weak cold front will arrive
Sunday and reach a very moist airmass over northern Indiana with
precipitable water values around 2.0 inches. Weak low level
flow and a tall and thin CAPE generally less than 1000 J/Kg will
provide an environment for heavy downpours. Given the
antecedently dry conditions and some storm movement, widespread
flooding is not expected, but local flooding is possible.

Temperatures will be near to a little above normal this upcoming
week with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Diurnal type (afternoon
heating) thunderstorms become more favorable Wednesday through
Friday afternoon
