...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of eastern Hancock, Rush
and Henry Counties through 245 AM EDT...
At 156 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles northeast of
Greenfield to near Glenwood. Movement was east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
New Castle, Rushville, Knightstown, Carthage, Spiceland, Shirley,
Kennard, Wilkinson, Mooreland, Lewisville, Glenwood, Straughn,
Dunreith, Cadiz, Greensboro, Mays, and Arlington.
This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 109 and 133.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
