...NWS Damage Survey for 05/16/25 Tornado Event - Update 1...

.Update...

The National Weather Service has received high resolution aerial
photography over the area of the May 16th long track tornado from
Greene county through Monroe, Brown and into western Bartholomew
counties. This new data has help refine the original track, much
of which went through inaccessible terrain.

This new data has allowed the NWS to find one additional tornado track
across central Greene county, about halfway between the eastern and
western tracks already identified. In addition, the satellite data
was also useful in helping to identify additional damage along the
paths already identified, with several more EF2 damage points
documented.

While there is about an 8 mile segment of no damage within western
Brown county, the time between identified damage points, based on
estimated radar, does allow for this track to remain continuous.
