Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 4.92 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/02/2025 Start Time: 09:52 PM EDT Start Location: 3 NNW Chesterfield / Madison County / IN Start Lat/Lon: 40.1575 / -85.6126 End Date: 04/02/2025 End Time: 10:02 PM EDT End Location: 3 WNW Yorktown / Delaware County / IN End Lat/Lon: 40.1939 / -85.5341 Survey Summary: Weaker tornado tracked south of the main track tornado to the north. Damage was sporadic and weak, suggesting tornado was not on the ground this entire length. Drone footage also supports this. Mostly trees being topped and roofing or siding damage with less than 20 percent damage to structures. This also in area of strong and large outflow area, so circulation and tornadic damage masked to some degree. .Second Delaware County Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 5.81 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/02/2025 Start Time: 10:04 PM EDT Start Location: 5 SSE Gaston / Delaware County / IN Start Lat/Lon: 40.2488 / -85.4646 End Date: 04/02/2025 End Time: 10:08 PM EDT End Location: 3 SSW Eaton / Delaware County / IN End Lat/Lon: 40.2941 / -85.3795 Survey Summary: Damage survey and data from local Emergency Management found a secondary tornado occurred south of main tornado to the north. This tornado was also sporadic with hit or miss damage along the path length. Likely an embedded weak circulation within RFD but also associated with weak circulation on radar. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the events and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$ Lashley
