...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Illinois...

  Wabash River from Montezuma to Mount Carmel

  White River from Elliston to Hazleton

.Minor flooding continues along portions of central Indiana rivers
due to excessive rain over the previous few weeks. Largely dry
weather is in store for the week ahead, with only a few low chances
of rain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur
in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips,
or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a
small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route over
higher ground.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel.

* WHEN...Until Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations.  All
  oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on
  substructures.  Access to these are by boat only.  Agricultural
  losses increase dramatically.  Farmers move livestock to higher
  ground.  City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year
  round.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:45 AM CDT /12:45 PM EDT/ Monday the stage was 19.3 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 11:45 AM CDT /12:45 PM EDT/ Monday was 19.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.1 feet
    early Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early
    Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Agricultural lands and some oil fields
  flood.  Several township roads about 1.25 miles south of St.
  Francesville and River Road between Billett Road and Lincoln
  Memorial Bridge in Lawrence County are flooded.  Extensive flooding
  of Kimmell Park at Vincennes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:45 AM CDT /12:45 PM EDT/ Monday the stage was 18.2 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 11:45 AM CDT /12:45 PM EDT/ Monday was 18.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.8 feet
    early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
    late Friday morning.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

  Pike County roads.  Many of the following county roads begin to
  flood around this level...east of SR 57 include CR 750N...CR 600N
  and CR 1000E.  Pike county road subject to flooding west of SR 57
  include...CR 250 W...CR 400W...CR 675N...CR 700 N...CR  1000w...CR
  900W...CR 700W and CR 775W.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:45 PM EDT /11:45 AM CDT/ Monday the stage was 17.7 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 12:45 PM EDT /11:45 AM CDT/ Monday was 18.1 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River at Edwardsport.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Water is at critical levels for makeshift
  levees.  Most of bottomlands flood.  Old Vincennes road and State
  Road 358 between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by
  several feet.  High water surrounds river cabins.  This type of
  flood occurs on average about once a year.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:00 AM EDT /6:00 AM CDT/ Monday the stage was 20.3 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 7:00 AM EDT /6:00 AM CDT/ Monday was 20.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early
    Wednesday morning and continue falling to 5.5 feet Thursday,
    September 03.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

* WHEN...Until late Friday night.

* IMPACTS...At 22.8 feet, Flooding extends to what is locally called
  River Road in several areas. River Road is the rural way south from
  Hutsonville to Palestine.  Flooding in this area affects large
  expanses of agricultural land, river cabins and hunting areas on
  both sides of the river.  Most local, unimproved roads leading
  towards the river are flooded.  These roads led to farms, river
  cabins, private residences, levees and a few oil wells.

    Friday afternoon and continue falling to 9.3 feet Thursday,
    September 03.
