Flood Statement
National Weather Service Indianapolis IN
1133 PM EDT Sat Aug 15 2026
...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
White River from Muncie to Spencer.
Fall Creek at Millersville.
Fall Creek near Fortville.
.Widespread flooding continues along the White River and associated
tributaries. Major flooding is ongoing along the White near and
north of Indianapolis, including the Noblesville, Nora, and
Ravenswood areas. The crest along the White is currently near the
Indianapolis Museum of Art, and may reach Raymond Street by daybreak
Sunday. The expected crest height at the Raymond Street gauge has
increased to 20.8 feet. The crest will not reach Centerton until
Monday afternoon, and points further southwest later than that.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.
Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/ind.
The next statement should be issued Sunday afternoon by around 1215
PM EDT.
