...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Illinois...

  Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.

  Wabash River at Lafayette...Covington...Hutsonville...and Riverton.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...Indiana...

  Wabash River at Montezuma...Terre Haute...and Vincennes.

.On the Wabash River...moderate flooding will continue at Montezuma
and Terre Haute into this weekend...with otherwise widespread minor
flooding from Lafayette to Vincennes.  Flooding is forecast to end on
Wildcat Creek midday Friday...and on the Wabash at Lafayette early
Saturday.  The main crest will be slowly crossing Terre Haute through
Saturday...with a secondary, much smaller, crest now leaving
Lafayette...forecast to spread out before reaching Covington.
Flooding will begin at Vincennes Friday evening...with the main
crest forecast to arrive Tuesday night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  roads.

  - At 11:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 12.9 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 11:30 PM EDT Thursday was 12.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0
    feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
    flood stage late Saturday morning.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

  at 20 to 21 feet as Wabash River backs up Turtle Creek a few miles
  south of Merom.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:00 PM EDT Thursday /10:00 PM CDT Thursday/ the stage
    was 19.2 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 11:00 PM EDT Thursday /10:00 PM CDT Thursday/ was
    19.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.9
    feet Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage
    Friday, August 28.

* IMPACTS...At 24.9 feet, On May 3, 2011 two homes in West Terre
  Haute area affected by seep water.  River crested near 26.7 feet
  about 2 days before.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 PM EDT Thursday /10:30 PM CDT Thursday/ the stage
    was 24.7 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 11:30 PM EDT Thursday /10:30 PM CDT Thursday/ was
    24.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.8
    feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood
    stage Thursday, August 27.

  forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Montezuma.

* WHEN...Until late Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 25.5 feet, Extensive lowland flooding in progress.
  The eastern most part of Vermillion CR 600 S impassable just north
  of U.S. 36.  The lowest portions of Wabash Road west of Parke CR
  600 W begin to flood.  Montezuma Public Access Site and low
  portions of Montezuma Park under water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:45 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 25.7 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:45 PM EDT Thursday was 25.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late Wednesday morning and continue falling and remain below
    flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Kimmell Park at Vincennes is extensively
  flooded.  River cabins begin to flood.  Extensive lowland flooding
  occurs in unprotected areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:45 PM EDT Thursday /10:45 PM CDT Thursday/ the stage
    was 15.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tomorrow evening to a crest of 19.5 feet Tuesday
    evening. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday, August
    29.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

* WHEN...Until Sunday, August 30.

* IMPACTS...At 22.9 feet, Extensive backwater flooding of Hutson
  Creek affecting residential property on the south side of
  Hutsonville. Flood waters near the intersection of N. Main and E.
  Mechanic St on the northeast side of Hutsonville.  RVs and campers
  located along the river just south of Hutsonville moved to higher
  ground.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - There is no current observed data.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.3
    feet early Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood
    stage Saturday, August 29.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
