Survey Summary:
The tornado began in southwest Champaign County just south of the
intersection of County Rd 100 N and County Rd 200 E and traveled
12 miles to the northeast at 60 mph, ending just north of Tolono
near U.S. Hwy 45. During its path it damaged mainly outbuildings
and trees, with a few of the trees uprooted. The most significant
damage was to an outbuilding just northwest of Tolono, where all
four walls collapsed and the roof fell into the contents of the
building, starting a fire on one of the gas tanks outside the
building.
