...HEAT ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

Heat index values have fallen below 100 degrees.

There is a 30 to 40 percent chance of the heat index reaching 100
degrees on Monday, with uncertainty due to thunderstorms across
northern Illinois tonight. A new advisory may need to be issued for
Monday if the storms do not create as much of an impact.

...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Peak afternoon heat index values 100 to 105 degrees.

* WHERE...Areas generally south of a line from Havana, to Decatur,
  to Mattoon.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The overnight heat index will only fall into
  the mid 70s

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter,
you can call 211 or visit keepcool.illinois.gov for assistance
locating appropriate shelter from the heat.
