.DISCUSSION...

A weak cold front was approaching central IL early Tues morning,
and this front is expected to result in a wind shift from
southwesterly to north-northeasterly in areas north of I-72. An
additional surge of lake-cooled air from Lake Michigan will push
in during the late afternoon/early evening, reaching the I-74
corridor first and shifting winds to northeasterly. This surge will
continue southwest in time, reaching portions of the I-72 corridor
closer to or just after sunset.

Mixing heights will be deep ahead of the lake-cooled air, but
diminished within the colder air. No precipitation is expected
today.
