.DISCUSSION...
Southerly winds will switch around and blow from the west behind a
weak cool front Tuesday morning, with a few gusts over 20 mph in
east central IL late morning through mid afternoon. The
combination of shallow mixing and weak transport winds will result
in poor ventilation for most or all of the work week. The best
chance (70-90%) for beneficial rainfall and perhaps a couple
thunderstorms during the next 7 days will arrive Thursday into
Friday, when a pair of systems will target the region. Chances for
more than a half inch of rainfall range from 60-70% in southeast
and east-central IL to 30-50% west of roughly I-55.
