.DISCUSSION...

Modest mixing and light southwest winds will favor poor to fair
ventilation for southeast IL today, while west of I-55 vent rates
will improve considerably during the afternoon and evening as
mixing deepens and northwest winds increase behind a cold front.
There will be a 20% chance for a brief shower or storm this
afternoon and evening near and east of I-55 along that front;
rainfall totals will generally be less than a quarter inch.
Tomorrow, ventilation should be very good area wide given deep
mixing and afternoon transport winds around 20 kt from the
northwest. In addition, this deep mixing will result in afternoon
relative humidities in the 40 to 50 percent range tomorrow,
perhaps lower Monday and Tuesday (though by then transport winds
will weaken and ventilation decrease).
