Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
256 AM CDT Fri Sep 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Transport winds will pick up today in the vicinity of a cold
front, which will help boost vent rates into the good to very good
range. Similar conditions will then remain in place on Saturday.
Fair to poor vent rates return by early next week as surface high
pressure builds across the region and suppresses transport winds.
