.DISCUSSION...

Another hot and humid day is expected across central and southeast IL
today. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms northwest of the IL
river late this afternoon and evening. Chances of showers and
thunderstorms will occur overnight into Sunday night from I-55 west,
with the best chances west of the IL river where heavy rain could occur
especially in Knox and Stark counties. Warm and muggy conditions will
linger into early next work week along with daily chances of showers
and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday, though more isolated in southeast
IL on Monday. Vent rates will be good again today across the area due
to breezy transport southerly winds. Fair to poor vent rates are
expected Sunday due to weaker south transport winds and lower mixing
heights.
