.DISCUSSION...

Dry and hot weather is forecast for much of central and southeast IL
again today. Though isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible later
this afternoon and early evening over the IL river valley. Chances of
showers and thunderstorms to increase eastward across central IL during
tonight into Sunday. Chances of showers and thunderstorms linger from
I-72 south on Monday with best chances in southeast IL. South to
southwest winds will increase to 10 to 15 mph this afternoon with
gusts 18 to 25 mph west of I-57. Southwest winds 5-15 mph on Sunday
morning to shift west to northwest during Sunday afternoon and evening
as a cold front moves through. Good to very good vent rates will prevail
today with stronger winds and higher mixing heights. Poor vent rates are
expected over central and western IL on Sunday, with fair to good vent
rates in east IL. Poor vent rates will prevail across the area on Monday
due to lighter winds.
