...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN NEW HANOVER AND
SOUTHEASTERN BRUNSWICK COUNTIES THROUGH 800 PM EDT...

At 644 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Mill Creek, or 9 miles north of Oak Island, moving northeast at 15
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Bishop, New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Hightsville, Southport,
Cape Fear Hospital, Snows Cut, Bolivia, Brunswick County Community
College Main Campus, Bald Head Island, Ocean Crest Pier, Wilmington
International Airport, Myrtle Grove, Masonboro, University Of North
Carolina At Wilmington, Belville, Navassa, Wilmington, Winnabow,
Caswell Beach, and Fort Fisher.

This includes Interstate 140 between mile markers 15 and 16.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
