...Event Summary...
NWS meteorologists surveyed a large area of straight line wind damage
in the Hemingway, SC vicinity that occurred during the late afternoon
of May 30, 2025. A fast moving thunderstorm squall line moved across
eastern South Carolina producing damage all the way eastward to near
Cape Fear, NC. A concentrated area of wind damage was observed in
and near Hemingway, SC including a number of snapped and uprooted trees,
some of which fell on structures and power lines. No injuries or fatalities
were reported.
