...THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE COASTAL WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm...

At 910 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm, capable of
producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 8
nm northwest of Wrightsville Beach, moving southeast at 25 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor until
this storm passes. If caught on the open water, prepare for
deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are wearing
properly fitted life jackets.
