Mostly clear skies were prevalent across the Plains this morning
with most locations in the 60s. Wind gusts continue to approach 30
mph, especially across western Kansas. This theme will continue
into the daytime hours today as southerly wind gusts may approach
50 mph across central and western Kansas. Afternoon temperatures
will top out in the mid to upper 80s. The gusty south winds will
persist into the overnight hours as a cold approaches the state.
The continued southerly winds will help keep temperatures quite
mild in the 60s for most locations. The aforementioned cold front
is likely to traverse far western Kansas tonight, sending
temperatures into the low 50s.
