565 AWUS83 KICT 052122 RWSICT KSZ032-033-047>053-067>072-082-083-091>096-098>100-060930- Regional Weather Summary National Weather Service Wichita KS 422 PM CDT Sat Sep 5 2026 Scattered showers and storms developed over parts of southwestern and central Kansas this afternoon. A few of the storms produced gusty winds and heavy downpours. Afternoon highs were in the upper 90s and low 100s across Kansas. A weak upper level weather disturbance will move from the Rockies northeast into Nebraska tonight. This will spark off scattered showers and storms from eastern Colorado into central Nebraska for this evening into the overnight hours. Meanwhile the rest of the central plains will remain dry tonight. Overnight lows will range from the low 60s in the Nebraska panhandle to the middle 70s in eastern Oklahoma. Upper level high pressure will continue to dominate over the Heartland on Sunday with hot and humid conditions persisting. As a result, numerous heat advisories and heat warnings will remain in effect across the region due to heat indices of 105 degrees or higher. Daytime highs will range from the upper 80s in northern Nebraska to the hot triple digits in central Kansas southward into Oklahoma. $$
