Scattered showers and storms were observed across southern Kansas
into northwest Arkansas early this afternoon. Otherwise, conditions
were dry and quiet across the Plains today. High temperatures ranged
from the middle 60s across Nebraska to the upper 80s across the Red
River Valley.

Showers and storms are expected to develop across the High Plains of
Nebraska later tonight and spread east into areas in north and
central Kansas. A few of these may become strong to severe and be
capable of large hail, especially toward the morning hours on
Friday. Low temperatures are forecast to range from the middle 40s
in Nebraska to the low 60s across southern Oklahoma.

Rain chances will persist into the late morning hours across the
Sunflower State on Friday as showers and storms continue to move
eastward. After a brief lull in activity, rain chances are
anticipated to return to the area later in the evening. High
temperatures will range from the low 60s across Nebraska to the
middle 80s in Arkansas.
