A strong cold front is progressing across the Heartland and
currently extends from southwest Kansas to near Wichita to Topeka
and northeast from there. Widely scattered showers and storms are
common along the front with the greatest concentration across
central Kansas. Additional storms are possible across southern
Kansas and the high Plains this afternoon and evening. A few
severe storms are even possible, especially across the high
Plains. Temperatures will range from the low 80s across northern
Kansas to the upper 80s across southern Kansas. Storms are
expected to move east and southeast from the high Plains and enter
western Kansas tonight. Overnight lows in the 50s and 60s will be
common across the Heartland tonight.
