Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
224 AM CST Wed Feb 5 2025

It was a dreary night and early morning across the Central Plains
as low clouds and freezing drizzle made their way into Oklahoma
and Kansas. Icy roadways over bridges were observed early this
morning across south central Kansas. Low temperatures were frigid
across Nebraska with observations in the single digits and teens,
while temperatures in the 40s and 50s were observed across the
Red River Valley.

Drizzle and freezing drizzle are expected to persist through the
morning hours across Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. This will shift
eastward throughout the day, but cloud cover will keep high
temperatures in the 30s and 40s across central, south central, and
eastern Kansas. Elsewhere, highs across the High Plains and Red
River Valley will soar into the 60s and 70s. Winds are expected to
remain relatively light as this unusual weather pattern sets up over
Middle America.

Tonight, lows will range from the teens and 20s across Nebraska to
the 30s and 40s across southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma. Fog is
once again possible in Kansas out ahead of a cold front once again
diving south across the Central Plains. Otherwise, skies should
remain clear and light winds will persist throughout the
Heartland.
