Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
452 PM CDT Sat Apr 19 2025

Cool and cloudy skies along with scattered rain showers lifted
slowly north across south central and southeast Kansas this
afternoon. Afternoon temperatures ranged from the cooler 40s in
southern Kansas to the warmer 50s and low 60s in northern Kansas
where there was more sunshine.

More showers and storms are expected to redevelop tonight across
Oklahoma as a upper level weather system moves eastward. This
activity will then spread northward into Kansas and Missouri with
showers and storms becoming more numerous. Some of the storms
could produce periods of moderate to heavy rainfall at times over
Oklahoma into parts of southeast Kansas, and southern Missouri.
Overnight lows will range from the 30s in central Nebraska to the
50s in central Oklahoma.

On Sunday, the upper level low pressure system will pivot
northeast from the Texas panhandle and race across Kansas by
Sunday afternoon. This will keep the widespread showers and storms
going across much of Oklahoma northward into central and eastern
Kansas. A few stronger storms could affect eastern Kansas late
Sunday morning into the afternoon hours with small hail possible.
Daytime highs will be in the cooler 40s and 50s from eastern
Nebraska southward into north central Oklahoma. Meanwhile
locations west or east will see warmer temperatures in the 60s
over western Kansas and Missouri.
