Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
436 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025

Eastern Kansas remained dry today while a few showers and storms
affected parts of west-central Kansas. Below normal temperatures
were in place, with afternoon highs ranging from the middle 70s
over northeast Kansas, to the low 80s over the southeast corner of
the state.

Showers and storms are expected to become more numerous late
tonight across western Kansas, southwest Nebraska and northwest
Oklahoma as a frontal boundary moves into the area. This large
area of rain will then slide southeast Monday morning, affecting
most of southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma. While severe storms
are not anticipated with this activity, heavy rain and flooding
will be possible.

Lows tonight are expected to range from the 50s across Nebraska
and western Kansas, to the 60s across Oklahoma. Cooler
temperatures are forecast region wide for Monday, with highs
in the 70s across most of the area, with some locations that see
rainfall staying in the 60s.
