Scattered showers and thunderstorms were common across the
Heartland with greatest coverage of activity across northwest
Missouri and Nebraska. As of 5 AM, temperatures range from the 60s
and 70s across eastern Kansas to the 50s and 60s across western
Kansas. Additional thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and
evening, especially across the eastern half of the state. A few of
these thunderstorms may produce large hail, damaging winds, and
even a tornado or two. Afternoon temperatures will surge into the
80s and 90s across the state. Thunderstorm chances will pivot into
northeast Kansas and Missouri late tonight as low temperatures
range from the 50s across western Kansas to near 70 across eastern
Kansas.
