A cold front has moved through much of the state with strong
northwest winds in its wake. Wind gusts up to 40 mph have been
observed across the state. Overnight temperatures will tumble into
the 20s and 30s with coldest across northern Kansas. Factoring in
these gusty northwest winds, wind chill values in the teens and
20s are expected statewide Sunday morning. An even stronger cold
front, which is currently across portions of Nebraska and South
Dakota, will move across the area late tonight into Sunday,
ushering in even colder temperatures. Sunday afternoon highs will
range from the upper 30s across northeast Kansas to near 50 across
southwest Kansas.
