Showers and storms were observed over eastern Kansas and Missouri
early this morning as the recent wet pattern continued over the
Central Plains. Overnight temperatures in the 60s and 70s were seen
from the Dakotas to the Red River Valley alongside partly cloudy
skies and light winds.

Another warm day is anticipated over the Heartland today, with high
temperatures areawide in the 90s and near 100 across the Central
Plains. Chances for showers and storms will return to portions of
Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas later this afternoon, though the
Sunflower State is forecast to stay mostly dry to start the weekend.
Light southerly winds are further expected throughout the area
through the evening.

Dry weather is forecast tonight throughout Middle America as rain
chances fade across central Nebraska after midnight. Low
temperatures in the 70s are anticipated in central Nebraska, Kansas,
and Oklahoma, while the High Plains of Colorado and the Nebraska
Panhandle will see readings in the 60s and even upper 50s. Skies
will be mostly clear alongside relatively light winds.
