Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
457 AM CST Fri Nov 8 2024

Rain showers spread into the western two thirds of Kansas
overnight as a low pressure system moves into the Plains from the
southern Rockies. Temperatures fell to the mid 30s in the
northwest corner to the lower 50s in the southeast corner of the
Sunflower State. Winds were generally out of the northeast at 5
to 15 mph.

Precipitation is expected across much of the Central Plains to
cap off the work and school week. Rain will be the dominant
precipitation for all but Colorado where snow will continue to
fall. The arrival of precipitation in the eastern portions of the
Central Plains from the eastern quarter of Kansas into Missouri is
anticipated to be later in the day with a better likelihood during
the evening and overnight hours. Daytime high temperatures are
forecast to range from the lower 30s in Colorado to the mid 60s in
southeast Oklahoma. Northeast to east winds will be at 5 to 25 mph
with the higher wind speeds in Kansas, western Oklahoma and
eastern Colorado. The gusts could approach 35 mph.

Chances for precipitation persist into the evening and overnight
hours. As this system pushes to the northeast, the precipitation
should gradually diminish mainly overnight from the southwest to
northeast. Temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 20s in
Colorado to the lower 50s in the Ozarks. Winds will become more
variable given the track of the system with speeds at 10 to 15
mph.
