Hot temperatures were in place across central and eastern Kansas
today. Late afternoon readings ranged from the middle 90s across
northeast Kansas, to between 100 and 105 for central and southern
portions of Kansas. A few isolated showers and storms affected
parts of northeast Kansas, however, most locations remained dry.

A cold front currently extends from northeast Nebraska into
western Kansas and will bring much cooler temperatures to most of
Nebraska and northern Kansas for tonight into Saturday. Overnight
lows are expected to range from the middle 50s across western
Nebraska to around 80 over eastern Oklahoma. Look for highs on
Saturday to range from the 80s across Nebraska and Iowa, to around
100 from western Oklahoma into south central Kansas.

An upper level low pressure system will bring shower and storm
chances to much of Nebraska tonight with far western Kansas also
seeing a few storms. For Saturday, highest storm chances will be
over Iowa and eastern Nebraska with a few storms also possible
over northern Missouri.
