The stretch of very hot conditions continues to impact the
Heartland with most areas of central and eastern Kansas in the
100s. In fact, 106 degrees has been reached at Salina and Wichita.
This ties the record high at Salina and breaks the record of 105
at Wichita. Each of these records stood since 1939. Some relief is
being felt across western Kansas and behind a weak cold front.
Much of western Kansas sits in the low to middle 90s. The warm
conditions will continue overnight with lows ranging from the 60s
across western Kansas to the upper 70s across eastern Kansas. The
heat continues Monday with highs ranging from the low 90s across
northwest Kansas to the low 100s across eastern Kansas.
