Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
327 PM CDT Thu Sep 19 2024

A large spread in temperature exists across the central Plains
this afternoon with temperatures near 100 degrees across southeast
Kansas and northern Oklahoma while northwest Kansas sits in the
low to mid 80s. This gradient is due in part to a cold front
pushing across the state at this hour. Thunderstorms, some of
which may become severe, are expected along and southeast of the
Kansas Turnpike this afternoon and evening.

Showers and storms should push eastward into Missouri and Arkansas
overnight with low temperatures dipping into the low 50s across
northwest Kansas and nearing 70 degrees across southeast Kansas.
Unfortunately another hot and humid day is in store for Friday
with much of the state surging into the 90s. Areas along the
Oklahoma border will approach 100 degrees once again. Showers and
storms are possible late tomorrow afternoon and evening across
central and southern Kansas.
