Dry and tranquil weather conditions prevailed across central and
eastern Kansas last night. Predawn temperatures were in the 50s
and 60s with light north winds.

Surface high pressure will shift eastward across the region
with sunny skies over Nebraska and Kansas today. Scattered
thunderstorms are expected to develop over the high plains region
of eastern Colorado today. Daytime highs will be in the 80s with
light south winds over eastern sections of Kansas and Nebraska.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to spread over southwest
Kansas and the Oklahoma panhandle this evening. This activity will
track eastward overnight and could extend across southern Kansas
and northern Oklahoma during the overnight hours. A few of the
storms could become strong or severe with large hail and damaging
winds possible. Overnight lows will range from the 50s in the
Nebraska panhandle to the middle 70s in eastern Oklahoma.
