Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
311 AM CDT Tue Aug 18 2026

A quiet night was observed across the Sunflower State with partly
cloudy skies and light southerly winds. Overnight lows fell into
the 60s and 70s for most across the region.

Today, highs will soar into the 90s and lower 100s once again.
Heat index values in excess of 100 degrees will be seen for much
of central and southern Kansas. Breezy southwesterly winds will
help to make the heat more tolerable.

Tonight, storm chances return to northern and eastern Kansas as a
frontal boundary approaches the state from the north. A few severe
storms are possible with this activity. Look for overnight lows
to dip into the 60s for most with 70s expected across southeast
Kansas.
