Similar to Wednesday, temperatures this afternoon have risen into
the 80s and 90s with a few showers and storms across far southern
Kansas. Shower and thunderstorm activity will decline this evening
into tonight, and lows will dip into the 60s and low 70s.

For Independence Day, afternoon temperatures will be in the 80s to
low 90s across the region. A few isolated afternoon showers and
storms will be possible across much of Kansas and Nebraska, then
chances increase during the evening and nighttime hours across
much of the central plains. Lows Friday night will dip into the
60s and 70s. A few strong storms cannot be ruled out across
western and central portions of Kansas and Nebraska.
