Weather conditions varied widely across the state today with
cloudy and cool conditions being seen in northeast Kansas and
sunny and warm in southwest Kansas. Afternoon highs ranged from 70
to 85 degrees. A few thunderstorms began developing during the
afternoon hours with heavy rain and lightning being the main
threats.

For tonight, scattered thunderstorms will continue through the
evening hours across central Kansas with spotty rain chances into
the overnight. A few of the thunderstorms could be severe with
gusty winds and small hail. Overnight lows will fall into the
upper 50s to lower 60s.

On Tuesday, a few lingering showers will exit the area across
southeast Kansas. Otherwise, look for clearing skies into the
afternoon with light northerly winds between 5-10 mph. High
temperatures will only warm into the middle to upper 70s for
eastern and central Kansas with western Kansas warming into the
lower 80s.
