Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
428 PM CDT Tue May 6 2025

Clouds and showers have been increasing across Kansas throughout
the day from southwest to northeast. These cloudier conditions
have helped to keep temperatures cooler across the state with high
temperatures in the low to mid 50s across southwest Kansas to the
mid 70s across northeast Kansas. The heaviest rainfall has been
observed across the Oklahoma Panhandle where around an inch of
rainfall has fallen into southwest Kansas where around two thirds
of an inch of precipitation has fallen as of 4 pm.

These showers will continue to expand to the northeast through the
evening and overnight hours with most of the Central Plains
receiving rainfall by Wednesday morning. Severe weather is not
expected, however a few rumbles of thunder will be possible
overnight. Additional rainfall around an inch is possible across
southwest Kansas while the rest of the state will remain around a
quarter to a half inch. Temperatures will fall into the mid 40s
across northeast Colorado to the upper 50s across southwest
Missouri by Wednesday morning.
