...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1987, severe thunderstorms erupted over northeast
Texas.Golf ball-sized hail pelted Atlanta, located 20
miles south of Texarkana in the northeast corner of the
Lone Star State, along with gusts measured at 86 mph.  In
addition, around 4 inches of rain drenched the area.  The
severe thunderstorms caused around $1 million damage.
