...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 2004, a tornado outbreak spanning three days ended,
but not until 50 more twisters hit the Deep South.  In
1987, showers and thunderstorms produced very heavy rain
in Southern Missouri, Southeast Kansas and Northeast
Oklahoma.  Springfield Missouri was swamped by 6.27
inches of rain.
