...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Central and South Central Kansas, including
  the following counties, in Central Kansas, McPherson and Rice. In
  South Central Kansas, Reno.

* WHEN...Until 1045 AM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 247 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain
    have fallen. Additional showers and storms are expected this
    morning and are capable of rainfall rates of up to 1 to 2
    inches per hour.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Hutchinson, Lyons, South Hutchinson, Sterling, Inman, Buhler,
    Haven, Nickerson, Little River, Chase, Arlington, Partridge,
    Sylvia, Alden, Windom, Plevna, Abbyville, Raymond, Yoder and
    Willowbrook.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don`t
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
