The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Butler County in south central Kansas...

* Until 515 AM CDT.

* At 1213 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain
  have fallen since Sunday evening. Additional rainfall amounts of 1
  to 3 inches are possible in the warned area overnight. Flash
  flooding is possible.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
  El Dorado, Andover, Augusta, Rose Hill, Douglass, Towanda, Benton,
  Whitewater, Leon, Potwin, Elbing, Burns, Santa Fe Lake, El Dorado
  Airport, Augusta Municipal Airport, El Dorado Lake and El Dorado
  State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don`t
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
